Glutathione: The Body's Master Antioxidant, Explained

Glutathione is often called the body's «master antioxidant». It is a small molecule with a big job, and one of the most requested products in both our supplement and our professional lines.

What glutathione is

Glutathione is a tripeptide — a chain of three amino acids: glutamine, cysteine and glycine. Your cells make it themselves, and it is present in high concentrations in the liver. Its sulfur-containing group lets it neutralize reactive molecules and recycle other antioxidants.

Why «master»?

Glutathione sits at the center of the antioxidant network. It works with enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase (which needs selenium), helps regenerate vitamins C and E, and takes part in the liver's normal processing of compounds the body needs to eliminate.*

Glutathione and vitamin C

Vitamin C and glutathione support each other: vitamin C helps keep glutathione in its active, reduced form. That is the reasoning behind Nano Liposomal Glutathione Blend, which pairs reduced L-glutathione with vitamin C in one liquid.*

The absorption challenge

Glutathione is easily broken down during digestion. Liposomal delivery is one of the approaches used to protect it on the way. Supporting the building blocks also matters: protein-rich foods provide cysteine, and selenium from a varied diet supports the enzymes that use glutathione.

Professional glutathione

In clinics, glutathione 200 mg/mL is commonly administered by a professional at the end of a vitamin infusion. It is available as a single 50 mL vial or in 6 and 12-vial bundles. As with every injectable, the dose and route are decided by the professional.

Pairs well with

Many customers combine Glutathione Blend with Hepa D-Tox (milk thistle and sarsaparilla) in a daily routine. If you take medication, ask your healthcare provider first.
